About
We started this radio show in June of 2016, with no seed money, no business plan, no guidance, and no radio experience, just a wild idea to stop the inexcusable violence toward law enforcement as well as rising violence in general. In August of 2018 we became a 501c3. Since that time, we have evolved into hosting educational events such as screenings of movies/documentaries, with Q&A sessions with authorities on the subject matter presented. These events offer educational opportunities providing awareness on topics such as sex and human trafficking, domestic violence, active shooter, illegal drugs, scams, border issues, gun violence, sextortion, modern slavery and the list goes on. These shows have helped countless people with drug addiction, targets of scams, and victims of other illegal and dangerous crimes. Law Matters is operated by volunteers with a desire to achieve a common mission.
To join our on-air conversations, call (520)-790-2040, or email us with show ideas or comments to: Sherry@LawMatters1030.org.
Additional Info
Some of the Law Matters events include the fist Sat. in every Oct. we host a sex trafficking awareness event at the Steam Pump Ranch from 9am to noon. We invite all the agencies and organizations who have resources and knowledge to share with the community. This will be our 4th year.
Every year we host the ‘Nominate Your Favorite Veteran’ contest. Submit their story in 150 words or less by the end of Sept. The winner will be the Grand Marshal of the Veterans Day Parade, be honored at the VIP viewing stage, receive a gift basket and be interviewed on the Law Matters Radio Show. It’s a great 3way to show them we appreciate their service.
This year we are hosting a fundraiser at La Mariposa Resort on Nov. 6th. We have the author of The Dealy Path, Peter Forcelli giving a presentation, after which he will autograph books. This book is the historic, behind-the-scenes account of the fast and the furious news story. The holidays are coming, this is a great gift idea. Join us at this cocktail party and hear this chilling story by the man who experienced it.
Throughout the year we host movie or documentary presentations on various topics with Q/A sessions. We invite experts in the industry to answer all your questions.
Law Matters also offers an internship program for students interested in communications, law and/or law enforcement. This opportunity earns the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for those with enough credit hours.
